Eleven wanted individuals were taken into custody during a weeklong operation across Hawai'i Island, with charges ranging from second-degree murder to methamphetamine and fentanyl promotion, drug possession, and supervised release violations.

The Hawai'i Police Department led the operation from March 23 through March 27, working alongside the U.S. Marshals Service Hawai'i Fugitive Task Force, the Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE), the State of Hawai'i Department of Law Enforcement's Sheriff Division, and the U.S. Secret Service. In addition to the 11 arrests, officers recovered a stolen vehicle and illegal narcotics during the sweep.

Police noted that several of those taken into custody were considered armed and dangerous, known drug targets, or individuals sought in connection with violent crimes.

Among those arrested in East Hawai'i was Anthony K. Hatori, 57, of Hilo, who faced four counts of summons or arrest of defendant on probation and was held on $600,000 bail. Abcde Mapuana Masuno, 35, also of Hilo, was charged in connection with serious offenses and held without bail. Kelvin K. Malakaua, 33, of Kailua-Kona, was charged with third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug for both methamphetamine and fentanyl, with bail set at $6,000.

Anyone with information on other wanted individuals is encouraged to call the Hawai'i Police Department's non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300, where tips may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
