Police Seek Ocean View Woman After Man Seriously Injured in Domestic Incident

Kaʻū patrol officers responding to a domestic disturbance call on Palm Parkway in Ocean View arrived to find a man seriously injured near a vehicle that had crashed into an embankment, and the woman police believe caused it had already fled the scene on a camouflage ATV.

The call came in at approximately 1:52 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, directing officers to the 92-1800 block of Palm Parkway. While they were still en route, dispatch received a second report: a traffic collision with injuries in the same area. Hawaiʻi Fire Department personnel reached the scene first and found the man lying on the ground near the wrecked vehicle. He was transported to Kona Community Hospital with serious injuries. His identity has not been released.

Police believe the collision and the disturbance are connected, and that both stemmed from a domestic dispute between the injured man and 32-year-old Antonya Mardonada of Ocean View. Mardonada is wanted for questioning in connection with the investigation. No charges have been announced.

Mardonada is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen leaving the area on a camouflage ATV.
