Buena Vista County Publishes Updated City Officials Roster, Names Appointees

Buena Vista County released an updated roster of city elected officials on December 23, 2025, detailing the names, contact information and term end dates for mayors, city clerks and council members across all municipalities in the county. The listing highlights a number of recent appointments to fill vacancies and clarifies which seats will reach the end of their terms in 2025 and 2027.

Selected entries from the county update include Albert City where Angie Nielsen was appointed city clerk to fill a vacancy until the next election, Mayor Dale Skog whose term ends in 2025, and council members Christy Ehlers with a 2027 term, Bruce Forbes with a 2025 term, Norman L. Hanson with a 2027 term, Kenneth Krohn with a 2025 term and James Nagengast with a 2027 term. Alta shows Lindsay Brown appointed city clerk until election, Mayor Kevin Walsh with a 2025 term and council members Jon Hansen with a 2025 term, Pam Henderson with a 2027 term, Peggy Hinkeldey with a 2027 term, Bruce McGowan with a 2027 term and Desi Suter with a 2025 term.

Newell’s roster lists Heather Copp as city clerk and Mayor Wayne Westergaard with a 2025 term. Newell also includes council members William Henrich Jr. with a 2027 term and Anastasia Johnson with a 2025 term, and two appointees to fill vacancies Larry Nielsen and Jeff Shedd both serving until the next election with terms ending in 2025. Rembrandt lists Jessica Wendal as appointed city clerk, Mayor Doyle Engebretson with a 2027 term and council members Damon Hickman 2025, Larry Kacmarynski 2025, Brent Smith 2027, Kevin Vaudt 2025 and Ed Witt 2027. Storm Lake shows Mayra Martinez appointed city clerk, Mayor Michael Porsch with a 2025 term and council members Margaret Martinez 2025, Margaret McKeon 2027, Don Piercy Jr elected to fill a remainder term to 2027, Maria Ramos 2027 and Matthew Ricklefs 2025.
