Storm Lake Based Brew Expands Across Central and Northwest Iowa
Brew, the family owned convenience store and travel center company headquartered in Storm Lake, announced it acquired 14 locations across central and northwest Iowa, expanding its regional footprint. The deal keeps current employees on staff and will introduce Brew loyalty perks, premium coffee and BP Amoco fuel at the transitioned sites, a move that matters for local jobs and fuel competition.

Brew has acquired 13 convenience stores and one vape and tobacco retailer from DANLEE Corporation, bringing 14 new locations into its network. The sites, formerly operating under Jiffy and Phillips 66 brands, are spread across central and northwest Iowa and include communities such as Marshalltown, Indianola and Spirit Lake. The company said the stores will be rebranded as Brew locations over the coming months and that current employees will remain on staff.
The acquisition increases Brew's presence beyond its Storm Lake headquarters and positions the company to roll out its loyalty program, expanded coffee offerings and BP Amoco fuel at additional sites. For Buena Vista County residents, the deal is significant because it represents local growth by a home based company and signals potential stability in regional employment tied to retail and fuel services.
Keeping existing staff in place should reduce immediate disruption for workers and customers who shop at those locations. For suppliers and local economies, new branding and product offerings can raise sales per site through loyalty incentives and enhanced food and beverage merchandising. The introduction of BP Amoco fuel at the transitioned stores also changes the competitive landscape for motor fuel in those communities, with implications for wholesale procurement and price signaling at the pump.
The move fits broader trends in the convenience store sector where regional operators consolidate sites to gain scale, standardize customer experience and negotiate better terms with national suppliers. Rebranding and systems integration will require capital and managerial attention over the coming months, and outcomes will depend on execution and local market conditions.
For Buena Vista County the most immediate impacts are the potential for expanded corporate operations in Storm Lake, continuity of employment at the acquired sites, and increased competition among convenience stores for loyalty customers and fuel sales. Over the longer term, the transaction could help Brew leverage economies of scale to invest in technology, store upgrades and expanded services that benefit consumers across the region.
