Storm Lake district registration runs through Aug. 6 with immunizations available

Storm Lake Community School District registration for the 2026-27 school year runs through Aug. 6, with sessions held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 824 Flindt Drive. Immunizations are available during registration, giving families one stop for enrollment paperwork and back-to-school health requirements before classes begin.

District families are being asked to bring immunization records, proof of address and a legal document that shows the student’s name and birth date. Returning students should register online, while first-time enrollment can require proof of eligibility such as age and residency under Iowa Department of Education guidance. Buena Vista County Public Health will be available during registration to review immunization records and provide back-to-school vaccines, according to a Storm Lake Community School District post. The City of Storm Lake also shared that registration could be used for immunization review and vaccines on Thursday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to noon. Iowa Department of Health and Human Services guidance says adolescent immunizations help protect students, friends, families and communities.

The district has used a similar early-summer timeline in recent years. It posted registration notices for the 2024-25 school year on July 8, 2024, and for the 2025-26 school year on July 1, 2025, showing that Storm Lake typically opens the enrollment process well before fall classes start.

For families across Storm Lake and Buena Vista County, the Aug. 6 deadline is the clearest marker in the district’s back-to-school calendar. Finishing registration now helps keep enrollment paperwork, address verification and immunization review from spilling into the opening weeks of school, when the district is also finalizing class schedules and other start-of-year services.
