Storm Lake Man, 34, Charged With Sexual Assault Involving Multiple Minors
Sergio Montejano Rendon, 34, faces a Class B felony after Storm Lake police say he sexually assaulted two minors under 14 at a Storm Lake residence in December 2025.

Sergio Montejano Rendon, 34, of Storm Lake, was arrested March 12 and charged with second-degree sexual abuse after the Storm Lake Police Department alleged he engaged in sexual acts with two minors under the age of 14 at a Storm Lake residence last December.
Police received a report of the alleged assault on March 11 and launched an investigation that day. According to the department's press release, investigators allege that in December 2025, Rendon engaged in sexual acts with one minor victim under the age of 14 at a residence in Storm Lake. A separate minor victim under the age of 14 was also present during the incident, police allege, and was assaulted by Rendon with the intent to commit sexual abuse.
Rendon was taken into custody the following day and faces four charges in total: Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree, a Class B felony; Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor; Indecent Contact with a Child, an aggravated misdemeanor; and Lascivious Contact with a Minor, a serious misdemeanor.
In Iowa, a Class B felony conviction carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison. Rendon was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail, where he was booked and held on a $30,000 bond.
A separate local report described the allegations in more specific terms, stating that Rendon was arrested for having sexual intercourse with a girl under age 12 and attempting to have sex with another underage girl immediately afterward. The Storm Lake Police Department's press release, as reported, described both victims as under the age of 14. The precise ages as alleged in the formal charging documents have not been publicly confirmed.
No arraignment date or case number had been publicly released as of press time, and it was not immediately known whether Rendon had retained counsel or entered a plea. All charges represent allegations; Rendon has not been convicted of any offense.
