The City of Asheville is accepting public comments on the Fiscal Year 27 proposed budget by email, voicemail or in person ahead of a 5:00 p.m. City Council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24 in the Council Chamber on the 2nd Floor of City Hall, 70 Court Plaza. Comments by email to ashevillecitycouncilfeb242026@publicinput.com or voicemail to (855) 925-2801, meeting code 9633, must be submitted before 9 a.m. on Feb. 24 for inclusion.

"On Feb. 20, 2026, the City of Asheville posted a public notice announcing that an upcoming City Council meeting scheduled for Feb. 24, 2026 will include a public‑comment opportunity focused on the FY27 proposed budget." The notice reiterates the meeting location and time and places the budget comment item on this week’s agenda.

"Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute § 143‑318.10 , this will be an in‑person meeting that the public can access remotely." Free parking will be available after 4:30 p.m. the day of the meeting in two city employee lots along Marjorie Street: the Valley St. Parking Lot at 55 Valley Street and the Marjorie St. Parking Lot at 17 Marjorie Street.
