Carrollton business dispute sparks two shootings, leaving two dead, three hurt
A business dispute in Carrollton turned deadly Tuesday, leaving two men dead and three others wounded before police arrested Seung Ho Han after a foot chase.

Carrollton police say a financial dispute tied to business partners turned into two shootings Tuesday morning, leaving two men dead, three others wounded and a 69-year-old suspect in custody. Investigators identified the suspect as Seung Ho Han, who was arrested after a short foot pursuit near an H Mart in Carrollton’s Koreatown area.
Officers and firefighters first responded at 9:57 a.m. to K Towne Plaza near State Highway 121 and West Hebron Parkway, where police say Han opened fire during or around a business meeting. Four people were found with gunshot wounds at that scene. One adult man died there, while two adult men and one adult woman were taken to hospitals in stable condition.

About an hour later, police were called to a second shooting in the 2700 block of Old Denton Road. There, investigators found another man dead inside an apartment. Police have said Han was responsible for both attacks and later told investigators the shootings stemmed from financial disagreements with his business partners.
Local reports said the conflict involved a failed $75,000 business and real-estate investment, a sushi restaurant and a rent dispute connected to a Georgia property investment. One account said Han admitted he was angry over money issues and felt his associates were taking his money. WFAA reported that an arrest affidavit says Han admitted shooting five people, killing two, after a dispute over a failed real estate investment.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified one of the men killed as 63-year-old Sung Rae Cho. Police have said there is no ongoing threat to the public, but the case has shaken a stretch of Carrollton that many North Texans associate with Korean-owned businesses and restaurants.
By Wednesday, May 6, 2026, community leaders had gathered at the Korean Cultural Center of Dallas and the Korean Association of Dallas with flowers and a memorial, urging unity, healing and accuracy. The Korean Society of Dallas also held a news conference, underscoring how quickly the violence spread from a business dispute into a broader community tragedy.
Han has been charged with capital murder and assault, and detectives say he confessed to shooting all five victims. For Carrollton residents and business owners, the case has raised hard questions about how conflicts in busy retail centers can escalate so quickly, and how much the neighborhood has changed in a matter of hours.
