Happy Ski School Brings Private Ski, Snowboard Lessons to South Plano
A south Plano ski school is teaching toddlers to carve turns on an indoor astroturf slope, accepting students as young as 2.

Lewis Anderson opened Happy Ski School at 4065 E. Plano Parkway on March 11, giving south Plano families an unexpected option for winter sports training: private ski and snowboard lessons on a manmade indoor hill covered in astroturf.
Anderson owns and operates the school himself. Photos from inside the facility show a young girl descending the astroturf slope on skis while Anderson walks alongside her, a setup that allows instruction to happen year-round without a mountain in sight.
The school accepts participants as young as two years old, making it one of the few local options for introducing toddlers to skiing or snowboarding before a family heads to an actual resort. Lessons are offered privately, meaning students work one-on-one with an instructor rather than in group sessions.

Collin County families looking to prepare for ski trips or simply introduce their children to the sport have historically had to travel to indoor facilities in other parts of the Metroplex. Happy Ski School's E. Plano Parkway address puts that kind of training closer to home for residents throughout south Plano and the surrounding communities.
Pricing, hours of operation, and equipment availability had not been publicly detailed as of this report. Those planning to enroll can contact Happy Ski School directly at the 4065 E. Plano Parkway location for current scheduling and registration information.
