McKinney Motorcyclist Kylar Creason, 21, Remembered by Loved Ones After Fatal Crash
Kylar Creason, 21, died in a U.S. 75 crash his friend never saw coming: "He's one of the best riders I've ever known."

Kamdin Tarbert had just spoken to his friend Kylar Creason on March 13, making plans to ride together and floating the idea of a long drive to Ohio. They never got that chance. Creason, a 21-year-old McKinney resident and avid motorcyclist, died after a crash on U.S. 75 south of Virginia Parkway that afternoon, his sudden absence leaving friends and family searching for words.
"At first I didn't believe it," a close friend said. "He's one of the best riders I've ever known."
McKinney police and fire crews responded to the scene around 3:30 p.m. on March 13, temporarily shutting down all northbound lanes of U.S. 75 near Virginia Parkway. Authorities confirmed a fatality at the scene and have since said the crash was not the result of law-enforcement activity. As of late March, no charges had been announced and the investigation remained ongoing.
Friends and family remembered Creason as someone who prized experiences and relationships above material things, with a particular passion for cars and motorcycles. His mother, Ashlie Swindell, addressed him directly in a public post asking the community for prayers. "Kylar Aedan, you will always be my sunshine," she wrote. "I will love you forever."
The family has planned a celebration-of-life service at Dean Funeral Home in Grand Prairie.
The crash drew fresh attention to the dangers motorcyclists face on U.S. 75, also known as Central Expressway, one of Collin County's most heavily traveled corridors. The stretch south of Virginia Parkway carries dense commuter and commercial traffic through a multi-lane configuration that supports high speeds. According to TxDOT, 581 motorcyclists died across Texas in 2024, averaging roughly one per day. More than half of those fatal crashes involved collisions with other vehicles, most often because drivers misjudged a motorcycle's speed or failed to see it in traffic at all.
McKinney police have not confirmed whether another vehicle was involved in Creason's crash or identified any contributing factor. The investigation continues.
