Stonebridge Ranch breaks ground on redesigned Beach Club for families
Stonebridge Ranch started work on a $10 million-plus Beach Club redo, adding pools, a community room and family spaces aimed at opening by May 2027.

Stonebridge Ranch is turning one of its signature amenities into a bigger pitch for family life, breaking ground on a redesigned Beach Club at 6201 Virginia Parkway that is set to open in May 2027. The project is being framed not as a routine repair, but as a reinvestment in the neighborhood’s everyday gathering place.
The Stonebridge Ranch Community Association said construction officially began May 5, 2026, following a groundbreaking ceremony on April 28. The new Beach Club is expected to bring a resort-style pool, adult, family and infant pools, a moving river, dedicated children’s areas, expanded playground equipment, shaded seating, picnic areas and fire pits. The association has also said the redesign will include accessibility and security upgrades, underscoring how HOA-backed neighborhood amenities have become part recreation space, part lifestyle feature.
Resident response helped shape the plan. SRCA said more than 2,800 households took part in the Beach Club survey, giving the association a broad sample of what current homeowners wanted from the upgrade. The association has described the new facility as a year-round gathering place rather than just a pool, a shift that reflects how large master-planned communities in Collin County now compete on the quality of shared spaces as much as on the homes themselves.
The financial side has also drawn attention. Earlier SRCA communications put the project budget at $10 million to $12 million and said the funding plan included a special assessment applied equally across all residential lots. CBS News Texas reported in 2024 that the amenity had gone more than 35 years without upgrades and that homeowners would be asked to pay a special assessment for the first time in the HOA’s 36-year history. That combination of nostalgia and cost helped make the Beach Club project one of the most closely watched neighborhood decisions in Stonebridge Ranch.
SRCA history materials trace the community back to a sales office at the same Virginia Parkway site and say the association was incorporated on July 25, 1988. The Beach Club has long been one of Stonebridge Ranch’s defining amenities, and the current redesign is intended to update that legacy for a new generation of residents who expect more than a simple pool.
The project team includes Millis Development & Construction, Kimley-Horn, Pritchard Associates, Conduit Architecture + Design and Aqueous Engineering. SRCA said site plans were under review with the City of McKinney during the design phase, and board member Bob Edgar has described the new facility as more than a pool, pointing to its role as a place where residents, families and neighbors can spend time together. For Stonebridge Ranch, the Beach Club is becoming both a memory and a market signal, a sign of how far the neighborhood is willing to go to keep its amenities competitive.
