The Colony Dog Adventure Bus Vandalized Twice in One Weekend
Denzel Andrew's Adventure Doggy Bus was smashed twice in one weekend near Wilcox Park, leaving up to $15,000 in damage and halting services for 13 Colony dogs.

Denzel Andrew was about 30 feet away when he saw the back windows of his Adventure Doggy Bus blown out, glass scattered across the pavement near Wilcox Park in The Colony. "They had to pretty much pick me off of the ground, man," he said.
That Saturday morning marked the first of two acts of vandalism that struck Andrew's converted school bus over a single weekend in late March, leaving every window, door mirror, and tail light destroyed and pushing estimated damage to at least $15,000. The attack forced My Neighbors Dog Co., the pet enrichment business he runs with his wife Brooke, to suspend all bus-based services.
The Adventure Doggy Bus had been a fixture in The Colony since November 2025, when Andrew launched it as the centerpiece of an enrichment-focused alternative to traditional dog daycare. The vehicle, a former Frisco ISD school bus he personally converted, transported up to 13 dogs in assigned, belted seats for pack walks, training sessions, and neighborhood outings, building roughly 40 weekly bookings in just a few months. Andrew had also planned to volunteer the bus with The Colony's Animal Services Department, taking shelter dogs on outings to increase their exposure to potential adopters.
"To smash up a dog bus that isn't bothering anybody," Andrew told FOX 4. "To see that broken, that's what broke me."
The first strike came overnight, and police notified Andrew early Saturday morning. Vandals returned the same weekend and hit what the first attack had missed; NBC 5 reported the second assault appeared to come from inside the bus. The Colony Police Department recovered fingerprints after the second incident and detectives are actively investigating. No cameras covered the area where the bus was parked, leaving investigators without video evidence and exposing a surveillance gap that anyone storing vehicles or equipment near that stretch of Wilcox Park should note. Residents with doorbell camera or dashcam footage from overnight periods that weekend are asked to contact The Colony Police Department directly.
Repair timelines compound the financial pressure. Because the vehicle is a school bus, it requires mechanics that most shops are not equipped to handle. "Even for minor things, my bus hasn't been in the shop for under seven days," Andrew said. "With all the damages, I think we're at least two weeks to a month out." Insurance may absorb part of the cost, but Andrew has said the payout will not cover everything he has put into the vehicle.
The community responded quickly. Neighbor Amy Probst launched a GoFundMe campaign to help offset repair costs and the deductible, describing the bus as potentially totaled after the second hit came before a scheduled Monday tow. Residents offered mechanical assistance and short-term financial support in the days that followed. Those wishing to contribute can find the campaign by searching "Support Denzel and My Neighbors Dog Co."
Andrew stayed public-facing throughout. "They caught me at a time where the business is building," he said, before delivering the line that crystallized his response: "They messed up one doggie daycare bus, we're coming back with two."
The Colony Police Department has not announced charges. The case remains active.
