A new promotional video from Universal Kids Resort gave North Texas families their most detailed look yet at what's taking shape on 97 acres in Frisco, spotlighting three of the park's seven planned themed lands ahead of a 2026 opening.

The resort's official social media account released the teaser last week, highlighting DreamWorks TrollsFest, Shrek's Swamp, and Puss in Boots Del Mar. The video features the park's creative team walking through details of each land and is described by Universal as the opening chapter of a series intended to "reveal all the big adventures awaiting our littlest fans and their families at a theme park for all kidkind."

At DreamWorks TrollsFest, families will find two interactive play areas, Poppy's Playland and Trolls Critter Crawl, along with a glitter-filled meet and greet with Poppy, Branch and the rest of the Trolls gang. Puss in Boots Del Mar will feature Swings Over Del Mar, a swing ride visible in concept imagery released alongside the video. Shrek's Swamp rounds out the three lands teased in the new footage.

Those three are part of a full lineup of seven themed lands. Isle of Curiosity serves as the park's entry land, described in Universal's corporate materials as "a perfect playtopia where you and your kid can roam, explore and buddy up with some of your favorite characters." Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club includes a Watermania dual spinner, a barrel ride vehicle fitted with mounted water cannons. The SpongeBob SquarePants in Bikini Bottom land features a Roundabout spinner themed as SpongeBob's boatmobile. Jurassic World Adventure Camp offers two named coasters, Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster and Mr. DNA's Double Helix Spin, along with Lookout Towers and an interactive baby Raptor encounter.

The park also plans multiple sensory gardens designed for children to explore through touch, sound, and color in what Universal calls "calming, nature-inspired settings."

"Universal Kids Resort embodies the spirit of igniting thrill that drives everything we create, designed to bring our youngest guests and families together through play, creativity, and beloved characters and stories," said Molly Murphy, President of Universal Creative. "It's a destination made for kids and, as a regional theme park, brings Universal's signature storytelling to families close to home."

Universal's official site carries a disclaimer noting that photography and footage are courtesy of Universal Orlando Resort and "may not represent actual attractions at Universal Kids Resort," with some images identified as artist conceptual renderings. The land names appearing in the video and corporate materials have also shown up in trademark applications filed over the past year, according to theme park media outlet OrlandoParkStop.

No specific opening date beyond the year 2026 has been announced. The resort's official site is collecting email signups for future updates as Universal continues rolling out details on the remaining lands.
