Atlanta-based Wood Partners has closed on its latest North Texas project, a 311-unit Class A apartment community called Alta Preserve that will rise inside The Farm, Allen's 135-acre master-planned mixed-use development off US-75.

The four-story, wrap-style building will offer a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts and is scheduled to deliver in Q2 2027. Groundbreaking began this month, with Nomura Real Estate Development, part of Tokyo-based Nomura Real Estate Holdings, participating in the project. The Alta Preserve deal pushes Nomura's cumulative U.S. multifamily pipeline past 2,000 units; the company is also relocating its U.S. base from San Francisco to the Dallas area to support continued expansion.

Ryan Miller, managing director at Wood Partners, framed the project around The Farm's broader trajectory. "Alta Preserve continues our efforts to create a community at The Farm where residents can easily connect with the places around them," he said. "With its continued expansion of the master-planned community and proximity to Legacy West just ten minutes away, Alta Preserve offers the kind of everyday convenience and sense of place that people value."

The amenity package leans into the lifestyle expectations of the Allen market. Residents will have access to an indoor and outdoor skydeck, a resort-style pool with grills and firepits, a golf simulator, a dry sauna, a dog park and dog wash station, and a club and fitness studio. Wood Partners also designed individual micro-office and fitness locations on each floor, a nod to the hybrid-work patterns now standard among the professional renters the project is targeting.

Alta Preserve is one of more than two dozen Wood Partners communities currently operating or under development across Texas. The firm announced the groundbreaking of Alta Timberline, a 204-unit luxury community in Tomball outside Houston, just last month, underscoring the pace at which the developer is moving through the state. Allen's position as one of the fastest-growing suburbs in Texas makes The Farm a logical anchor for that expansion, given the site's scale and its quick connection to the Legacy West employment and retail corridor in Plano.
