Wylie Nears Opening of Jericho Village, Affordable Housing for Workers
Jericho Village, Wylie’s first income based urban housing community, reached about 90 percent completion as crews applied finishing touches at the 511 Brown Street site. The 38 unit development will provide permanent supportive housing for low income working individuals and families, and move ins are expected early in 2026.

City officials, nonprofit leaders and community partners toured the Jericho Village site on December 17 and saw nine residential buildings now standing on the two and a half acre property at 511 Brown Street. The Agape Resource & Assistance Center of Plano leads the project, which is roughly 90 percent complete and on track to welcome its first residents in early 2026 after final certificates of occupancy are issued.
The development consists of thirty eight apartments arranged in nine buildings designed to resemble single family homes. Each building functions as a quadplex with four apartments, two up and two down, sharing a common front door and stairs. Units range from studio to three bedroom layouts and include four ADA mobility units and four audio visual accessible units. Rents will be income based, with sixty percent of units reserved for households earning below fifty percent of area median income and ninety five percent available to households earning below eighty percent of area median income.
Agape Resource & Assistance Center founded by Janet Collinsworth has positioned Jericho Village to serve men, women and families who work in roles such as teachers, civil servants and first responders, as well as other low income career professionals. Catholic Charities Dallas will manage the property and onsite supportive services are a core feature of the project. The community center will include a computer lab, conference space, offices for case managers and counselors, a health room, children activity space, workout room, kitchen, patio with pergola and a playground.

The arrival of Jericho Village will add permanent housing capacity targeted to working households that face affordability pressure in Collin County. For local policymakers and civic leaders the project underscores the role of nonprofit developers in expanding housing options while highlighting the need to pair units with ongoing case management and services. Community stakeholders say full occupancy is expected soon after certificates of occupancy are issued and move ins are anticipated in early 2026.
