Carl R. Darnall hospital plans hiring fair for 100-plus jobs

Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center will try to fill more than 100 clinical and non-clinical positions at a job fair July 17 in Killeen.

The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Texas A&M University-Central Texas, in the Warrior Hall Multipurpose Room on the first floor at E. Campus Drive. Applicants are asked to register and submit a resume, licenses, certifications and supporting documents by July 10, although walk-ins will be welcome the day of the event. The Fort Hood Media Center will also provide on-the-spot resume reviews.

Openings span a wide range of work inside the 157-bed hospital, including physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, pharmacists, behavioral health providers, physical therapy providers, medical and health technicians, hospital support staff and other roles. Career listings also include nursing assistants, infection prevention and control nursing, physician assistant work, psychology and social work, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, administrative careers and dental careers.

CRDAMC serves about 100,000 TRICARE Prime beneficiaries and provides primary, specialty, emergency and inpatient care to active-duty service members, retirees and family members. The medical center averages four deliveries, 1,081 primary care visits, 1,401 specialty care visits, 13 surgeries, 2,224 lab tests, 435 radiology studies, 33 admissions, 134 emergency room visits and 2,672 prescriptions each day.

Maj. Mallory Pinger, the deputy commander for administration, urged candidates seeking a career with purpose to register before the deadline. CRDAMC is a nearly 100-building health care system covering 3,577,593 square feet at Fort Hood, with four patient-centered medical homes, three community-based medical homes, five Soldier-centered medical homes and 22 specialty clinics. It has also earned a fifth consecutive Leapfrog Grade A.
