Copperas Cove Municipal Court Reopens After Year of Renovations
Copperas Cove's municipal court returned to 602 S. Main Street on March 17 after more than a year of renovations, with minor work still ongoing in the $500,000 building project.

After more than a year of interior renovations, Copperas Cove's Municipal Court has reopened its doors at 602 S. Main Street, with all staff and courtroom operations back under one roof as of March 17.
"Visitors to the court may once again enter through the front doors into the lobby, but should still remain cautious and aware of their surroundings as minor work is on-going," the city stated in its announcement.
The renovation project broke ground February 10, 2025, funded through the city's 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan. Construction records list the scope as interior renovations to the 6,314-square-foot building, with an estimated project value of $500,000. Elements of Architecture served as the design firm of record, and the project was registered under the Texas Accessibility Standards program with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation in December 2024, a compliance requirement for public facilities under Texas Government Code Chapter 469.

During Phase 1 of the work, court proceedings shifted to the City Council Chambers at 508 S. 2nd St. while clerks remained at the Main Street location to assist the public. The city had projected Phase 1 to run four to five weeks.
The Municipal Court lobby is now open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Staff remain reachable by phone through 5 p.m. at (254) 547-5030. Questions can also be directed to Court Administrator Juanita Epperson at jepperson@copperascovetx.gov. The city has not announced a firm completion date for the remaining work.
