Copperas Cove Plans Spring Fest 2026, Seeks Input on Sports Complex
Copperas Cove's 8th annual Spring Fest hits City Park on March 28 with free admission, live music, and food trucks, while a sports complex survey seeks community input on a potential $28M facility.

The Copperas Cove Parks & Recreation Department is bringing the 2026 Spring Fest to City Park at 1206 W. Avenue B on Saturday, March 28, running from 3 to 8 p.m. The 8th annual event will include activities, food trucks, market vendors, kid activities, beer and wine vendors, an adult softball tournament, and a golf simulator brought by Fringes & Fairways.
The event is described as "fun-filled, family oriented and suitable for all ages," with free admission, though a $5 parking fee applies. Live entertainment will come from Memphis Kee and the 1st Cav Band. Prospective vendors can reach the Special Events Coordinator at awilson@copperascovetx.gov.
Running alongside the Spring Fest announcement is a second initiative with longer-range implications for the city. Copperas Cove Parks & Recreation is currently conducting a Sports Complex Feasibility Study, and community input is a central part of the process. The information gathered will help guide the research and development of a potential sports complex, ensuring it reflects what types of facilities, programs, and opportunities residents want to see.
The City of Copperas Cove has included the construction of a roughly $28 million sports complex as part of its capital improvement plan. Back in March 2024, the Copperas Cove City Council directed the city to conduct a feasibility study for the proposed complex. At that time, it was discussed that financing for the sports complex would need to be approved by Copperas Cove voters via an election.

The City has engaged Sports Facilities Companies to conduct the feasibility study, an industry-leading sport and recreation consulting, development, and management firm tasked with analyzing the market opportunity and financial feasibility for the new outdoor complex. SFC manages more than 100 sports venues nationwide. At a February Community Vision Open House at the Copperas Cove Civic Center, Kevin Schuh of Sports Facilities Companies framed the effort plainly: "We're not making any presentations on what this facility will be. This is a fact-finding mission for us," Schuh said.
No location, design, or concept has been decided for the facility at this time. The discussion has centered on the idea that the facility could be a source of revenue for the city by hosting tournaments, such as baseball and softball competitions. Examples of outdoor complexes with "flex fields" were presented, and other elements such as disc golf and pickleball were also raised as possibilities.
The online survey is expected to remain available for approximately three to four weeks. The city envisions the proposed facility as a flexible community asset supporting recreation, public events, rentals, and potential tourism-related activities, with the primary goal of expanding recreation offerings to residents.
