Coryell County voters must register by Feb. 2 for March primary
Coryell County residents who want to vote in the March 3 primary must register by Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, or their applications will not be effective for the election.

Coryell County residents who want to participate in the March 3, 2026 primary must complete voter registration by Monday, February 2, 2026, or their applications will not be valid for that election. Under Texas law, eligible voters must register by the 30th day before Election Day, and applications must be postmarked or delivered by Feb. 2 to be effective for the primary.
The Texas Secretary of State is urging action. “The deadline to register in time for the primary election is quickly approaching,” said Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson. “If you have not already registered, or you are unsure of your registration status, now is the time act.” Voter eligibility requires U.S. citizenship, residence in the county where a voter registers, and being at least 18 years old on Election Day.
Practical steps matter for Coryell County voters. Mail-in registration must be postmarked by Feb. 2, but the secretary of state warned that mail may not be postmarked until it reaches a processing center. Customers who want to guarantee a Feb. 2 postmark can visit a USPS retail location and request a manual postmark. Voters who prefer to register in person should deliver their application by Feb. 2.
If you plan to cast a ballot, note the related timelines: early in-person voting runs February 17–27, 2026, and applications to vote by mail must be received by your county’s early voting clerk by February 20, 2026. Election Day is Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Voters can confirm registration status through the Texas Secretary of State’s Am I Registered portal or begin a new voter registration through the state’s VoteTexas tools. The secretary of state’s office has also updated its in-person services location; beginning January 12, 2026 the office moved to 400 W. 15th Street, with lobby hours 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Apostille and authentication services are available by appointment Tuesdays through Thursdays and walk-in on Mondays and Fridays.
Local reporting has emphasized the short window for Coryell County residents to act as the primary approaches. For voters who have delayed, the immediate choices are clear: submit a registration application that can be delivered or postmarked by Feb. 2, check your registration online, or plan to participate during the early voting period Feb. 17–27 if you are already registered.
