Cumberland County Surrogate Opens First-Ever Satellite Office in Vineland
Vineland residents filing estate paperwork no longer have to drive to Bridgeton: the county's first-ever surrogate satellite office opens on Delsea Drive Tuesday.

Probate filings, guardianship petitions, and certified estate documents have long sent Vineland residents on the drive to Bridgeton, the county seat. Starting Tuesday, they won't have to.
Cumberland County Surrogate Skip Luisi will cut the ribbon on a new satellite office at 3:00 p.m. on March 31 at 2745 Delsea Drive in the Vineland County Office Building. County officials are calling it the first new office in the history of the Cumberland County Surrogate, a milestone that ends the eastward travel burden for residents handling some of life's most difficult legal paperwork.
The Vineland location will offer the same services as the main Bridgeton office: probate matters, administration of estates, guardianships, adoption filings, and certified copies. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments are required for consultations, but residents who only need to drop off paperwork or applications can do so without scheduling ahead. The first-floor space at 2745 Delsea Drive is handicapped accessible.
"This office is a long time coming, and we're thrilled to expand our services to better serve the community," Luisi said. "Our team and I are waiting with open arms to serve the residents of Cumberland County. Whether you need guidance or just have questions, we're here to help."
Senator Michael Testa, Vineland Mayor Anthony Fanucci, and Millville Mayor Dan Dixon are all expected to attend Tuesday's ceremony, a turnout that signals how broadly the change registers across the county. Older adults, busy caregivers, and residents without reliable transportation are among those the county has specifically identified as standing to benefit from the shortened trip. Estate attorneys who routinely file certified documents through the Surrogate's Office may also see faster turnaround as caseload is distributed across two locations rather than one.
Residents who want to confirm which specific filings are accepted at the Vineland satellite, or to schedule a first appointment, should contact the Surrogate's Office directly before visiting.
