Dirt bike rider killed in Cumberland County crash on North Main Road

A 34-year-old man died Thursday night after a dirt bike crash on North Main Road in Cumberland County threw him from the bike and into a collision with a vehicle, authorities said.

The rider was traveling southbound on North Main Road when the crash happened. The impact was severe enough to eject him from the dirt bike, and authorities said the injuries were fatal.

The wreck adds to a troubling pattern of serious two-wheel crashes in the region, where evening traffic, lower visibility and fast-moving vehicles can turn a split-second mistake into a fatal one.
