More than 40 South Jersey artists filled the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts on March 20, when the monthly Third Friday celebration drew visitors to 22 N. High St. in Millville's Glasstown Arts District for an evening of gallery receptions, live music, and artist meet-and-greets running from 6 to 8 p.m.

The night centered on Associate Artist Show 1, an exhibit of new works by RRCA's Associate Artist Members. At 7 p.m., the center announced awards recognizing two winners along with three or four Honorable Mentions selected from the show. The band Trainwreck provided live music throughout the reception.

Beyond the main gallery, the Witt Gallery hosted "Things with Wings," a group show inviting local artists to present their interpretations of anything that flies, flutters, or floats. Visitors could meet participating artists and hear the stories behind each piece. In the Associate Artist Alcove, longtime studio artist and Associate Artist member Belinda Dalton showed oil and pastel paintings spanning skyscapes, landscapes, and florals. The Atrium Gallery offered two separate attractions: "Abstraction," a grouping of color, shape, and form in abstract art, and the City of Millville Pet Portrait Contest, with contest entries and winners on display.

Third Friday at the RRCA is a recurring monthly event presented by PNC Arts Alive, with programming rotating each month across the center's galleries and participating venues in the Glasstown Arts District. Previous editions have featured artists as varied as Larissa Silva, a Bridgeton middle school art teacher and Rowan University graduate whose bold 2D compositions draw from Maurice River fauna, and professor-painters Rita Michalenko and Cheryl Knowles Harrigan, whose duet exhibition "Just the Two of Us" celebrated 30 years of shared teaching, travel, and friendship. The July 2025 Third Friday ran from 5 to 8 p.m. and highlighted watercolorist Kathy Anne English's "Painting America" series, which featured 50 original works depicting state parks across all 50 states, alongside a Witt Gallery open call titled "Cumberland County on Canvas."

The RRCA's recently updated year-round gift shop, stocked with artist-made jewelry, prints, books, wall art, ceramics, and more, remains open during regular gallery hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The building at 22 N. High St. is publicly accessible, and parking maps and directions are available through the center's website.
