Courthouse Closures, Waste Bid, Commission Vacancies and Meetings
The Decatur County Courthouse and Solid Waste Convenience Centers observed holiday closures over Christmas and will be closed on New Year s Day, affecting access to county services. Officials also announced a January bid for solid waste disposal services and a January commission meeting to fill three commissioner vacancies, both important for residents who rely on county services.
The Decatur County Courthouse was closed December 24 through December 27, 2025 in observance of Christmas. The courthouse will also be closed January 1, 2026 in observance of New Year s Day. Decatur County Solid Waste Convenience Centers were closed December 24 and December 25, 2025 for the holiday and will also be closed January 1, 2026. These closures interrupt routine access to county records, permits, and on site waste drop off, and residents are advised to plan ahead for transactions that require in person attention.
Looking ahead, Decatur County Solid Waste will accept separate sealed bids for solid waste disposal services at the office of the County Mayor in the Decatur County Courthouse at 22 West Main Street, Decaturville, Tennessee. Bids will be received on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. local time. Bid documents may be reviewed at the office of the Decatur County Mayor and may be obtained from F and M Consulting Inc. at 25 Court Street, Savannah, Tennessee 38372 during normal working hours of 7:00 A.M. until 3:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. The Decatur County Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. in the Decatur County Courthouse at 22 West Main Street, Decaturville. The Commission will consider filling three vacancies, two positions for District 7 Commissioner and one position for District 8 Commissioner. A 15 minute Public Input session will begin at 6:00 P.M providing a window for residents to speak directly to county leaders.
