Scotts Hill kept District 13 tight with a 2-1 burst that included a 1-0 road win at Adamsville and two hard-fought games against McNairy Central. The Lions showed the kind of resilience that usually decides playoff seeding in late April, and they did it against opponents who were also in strong stretches.

The run began with a 3-2 win over McNairy Central on Thursday, April 16, then turned into an 8-4 loss to the Bobcats on Friday, April 17. Scotts Hill answered with another close finish Monday, April 20, shutting out Adamsville 1-0. That mix of results told the story of a team that could win low-scoring games, survive pressure on the road and still take a hit when the same opponent came back the next day.

CoachT listed Scotts Hill at 15-7 overall and 4-0 in district play after the April 16 win, with the Lions placed in Division I Class 2A, Region 7, District 13. Adamsville entered the matchup at 9-8 overall and 2-0 in district play, underscoring how little separation there was at the top end of the district. CoachT’s schedule page showed the pace only got tighter, with Scotts Hill lined up to face Adamsville again on Tuesday, April 21, then Trinity Christian on Thursday, April 23 and Loretto on Friday, April 24.

The numbers behind the season explain why every one-run game matters. CoachT’s 2026 schedule analysis had Scotts Hill outscoring opponents 160-98, a sign that the Lions have been controlling a lot of games even before the district grind really settles in. MaxPreps also showed Scotts Hill entering the April 17 rematch at 14-8 and riding a six-game winning streak before the loss, while McNairy Central improved to 8-12 after beating the Lions. Adamsville was also carrying momentum, having beaten Riverside 5-1 on April 16.

Scotts Hill’s baseball history gives the stretch even more weight. The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association lists a 5-4 championship record for the program, with state tournament appearances in 2013, 2014 and 2016 and a Class A state title in 2016. That past success makes this kind of district stretch more than a routine week in the schedule. For Scotts Hill, it is another test of whether the Lions can turn close games into postseason position when the spring race reaches its final turn.
