Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents are probing the deaths of two people found at a Wheat Store Road home on December 12, 2025, a case that has left Decatur County residents seeking answers. The investigation, requested by the 24th Judicial District Attorney General, is active and ongoing, with authorities stressing there is no current threat to the public.

Decaturville residents were informed this week that state agents are leading an inquiry after two people were found dead at a residence in the 100 block of Wheat Store Road on December 12, 2025. Deputies from the Decatur County Sheriff s Office responded to a call at approximately 3 54 p.m. and later reported the deceased were taken to the Nashville Medical Examiner s Office for autopsies.
At the request of 24th Judicial District Attorney General Neil Thompson, TBI agents are investigating the deaths of two individuals at a home in the 100 block of Wheat Store Road in Decaturville on Thursday, December 11th. The individuals have been identified as Ronda Graves DOB 02 08 1976 and Chad Gentry DOB 07 16 1975. At this time, the investigation remains active and ongoing, said Kim Wheeler, TBI Public Information Officer.
Local law enforcement secured the scene and formally transferred responsibility to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Deputies secured the scene and notified the District Attorney s Office. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was requested and has assumed responsibility for the investigation. At this time, there is no threat to the public, wrote the sheriff s office on their Facebook page.

The identities released and the involvement of the TBI underscore the seriousness of the case and the county s reliance on state resources for complex investigations. For neighbors and family members, autopsy results and investigative findings will be central to understanding what occurred. The sheriff s office has said it will not release additional information while the probe continues, and state investigators have not yet announced any findings.
For residents, the immediate impact is a reminder of the need for calm and caution around evolving cases. The clear message from local authorities is that there is no known danger to the broader community while the TBI continues its work. Officials expect autopsy results and further information to follow as the investigation proceeds, and anyone with information relevant to the case is asked to contact law enforcement to assist in resolving questions that remain.
