Castle Rock Allocates $19M for 2026 Road Maintenance, Open House Set March 23
Castle Rock is directing up to $19M in sales tax funds to repave roughly 100 lane miles across Diamond Ridge, Sapphire Pointe, and Terrain this year.

Castle Rock has committed up to $19 million to its 2026 Pavement Maintenance Program, targeting northern neighborhoods and major arterials in what the Town describes as an annual effort to extend the life of its 788-lane-mile road network. Residents can attend a public open house on Monday, March 23, to learn more about what's planned for their streets.
This year's work will concentrate on Diamond Ridge, Sapphire Pointe, and Terrain, three neighborhoods that make up the northern portion of Castle Rock. Beyond residential streets, several major roadways will also receive attention, including Castle Oaks Drive, Factory Shops Boulevard, Loop Road, Promenade Parkway, and Woodlands Boulevard, with additional streets to be treated beyond that named list.

The program is expected to improve approximately 100 lane miles before crews wrap up in the fall. "Crews will be working on neighborhood roads between late March and October, weather dependent," according to a March 3 Town Council update that outlined the program's scope.
The rationale for targeting northern Castle Rock this year traces to a deliberate geographic rotation. "Each year, work in residential areas concentrates on one of five geographic regions on a rotating basis to maximize Town resources," the Council update stated. That approach lets the Town systematically work through its entire road inventory rather than spreading limited dollars thin across all areas simultaneously.
Funding for the program comes primarily from sales tax revenue. "Largely funded by sales tax receipts each year, available resources are used to maintain the Town's 788 lane miles to extend pavement life," the Town noted in its official materials. The investment reflects a preventative philosophy: catching pavement problems before they escalate into costlier full reconstructions.
The Town published full program details on March 10, 2026, and has posted additional frequently asked questions online at CRgov.com. Residents with questions before the open house can call 720-896-TOWN (8696) to reach Town staff during business hours, or sign up for direct notifications at CRgov.com/NotifyMe.
The March 23 open house gives northern Castle Rock residents a direct line to Town staff before crews mobilize. The Town has not yet published the event's time or specific location, so checking CRgov.com or calling the Town line in advance is advisable for anyone planning to attend.
