Douglas County Deputies Arrest Denver Parolee Linked to Multiple Highlands Ranch Burglaries
A Denver parolee serving time for a 2018 burglary conviction was arrested and held on $100,000 bond after a search warrant linked him to three Highlands Ranch apartment burglaries.

A man already on parole for a Denver burglary conviction walked out of his Denver apartment in handcuffs after the Douglas County Sheriff's Office tied him to a string of Highlands Ranch apartment break-ins, authorities said.
Antoine Lavoie, 48, was arrested in connection with a string of burglaries at Highlands Ranch apartment complexes and faces several charges, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. Graves A Team and Special Investigations Section detectives at the sheriff's office identified Lavoie as the primary serial burglary suspect.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Lavoie's Denver apartment, which tied him to three Douglas County burglaries and at least one active burglary case in Denver. Lavoie was on parole for a Denver burglary conviction in 2018, after being sentenced to 14 years. Sheriff Darren Weekly did not mince words about what that history meant for the community's safety.
"Repeat offenders who continue to victimize our communities must be held accountable," Weekly said. "This suspect was already on parole and has an extensive criminal history in multiple states. Thanks to the outstanding work of our investigators and regional partners, we were able to solve multiple burglary cases in Douglas County and take a repeat offender off the streets."
Lavoie was apprehended by the Douglas County Regional Impact Team, but during the arrest, the sheriff's office said he allegedly assaulted a Douglas County detective. Officials have not released details about any injuries to the detective. Lavoie now faces a parole violation and multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, and is being held on a $100,000 bond at the Douglas County Jail.
The sheriff's office credited community members with helping crack the case. Authorities thanked residents whose tips, along with surveillance footage, helped narrow the investigation and identify Lavoie as the suspect. Investigators say interviews, evidence processing, and additional follow-up work remain ongoing.
The arrest comes against a backdrop of persistent property crime concerns in Douglas County. In March 2025, the sheriff's office launched an investigation into a separate series of home burglaries in a Highlands Ranch neighborhood just east of Broadway and East Gateway Drive, as well as in Franktown, with the burglaries taking place the same night and appearing consistent in nature. In that earlier case, the sheriff's office said two of the homes showed signs of forced entry, and that suspects may have used a Wi-Fi jammer to deactivate home cameras.
The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information or footage related to the Highlands Ranch burglaries to contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers. Deputies are also urging residents to close garage doors when not in use, lock doors, install exterior cameras, write down serial numbers of valuable property, and report suspicious vehicles and activity in the neighborhood.
