Douglas County Hosts Free Vaccination Clinic for Families in Parker

Parker families had a three-hour window Wednesday afternoon to walk into SECOR Cares on Pine Lane and leave fully caught up on COVID, flu, and RSV vaccines at no cost, no insurance card required.

The Douglas County Health Department, in partnership with SECOR Cares and the Public Health Institute at Denver Health, ran the School and Seasonal Vaccination Clinic from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on March 25 at 17151 Pine Lane. The late-afternoon timing was deliberate: a post-school, post-work slot that let parents pull children from pickup lines and stop on the way home.

The clinic offered COVID-19 vaccines, influenza shots, and RSV immunizations where clinically indicated, consolidating what typically requires separate appointments across multiple providers into a single stop. For school-age children behind on immunization records ahead of spring sports sign-ups and the next enrollment cycle, the clinic offered a path to compliance without the usual scheduling delays.

Walk-ins were accepted throughout the three-hour block, though preregistration via QR code was recommended to shorten wait times. Attendees were asked to bring a photo ID, existing vaccination records, and insurance information if they had coverage. Uninsured and underinsured residents were explicitly encouraged to attend; the county framed low- or no-cost access as a core feature of the event, not a footnote. Clinic materials were provided in both English and Spanish.
