Parker Youth Awards Offer Scholarships, Showcase Student Art and Voices
The Parker Youth Commission is accepting submissions for its 2025 2026 Youth Awards, offering scholarships for high school seniors and prizes for middle school artists. The program creates a public platform for young people, and deadlines in January provide an immediate opportunity for students to gain financial support and community recognition.

The Parker Youth Commission opened its call for entries on December 1 for the 2025 2026 Youth Awards, inviting local students to submit work that celebrates and strengthens the Town of Parker. The Spirit of Parker Award targets current high school seniors who have made a meaningful impact on the community, with two winners to receive a $1,000 scholarship. The Pride of Parker Award invites middle school students to express what Parker means to them through visual art, with five winners receiving a $100 gift card.
Submissions for the Spirit of Parker Award may include a written composition, a presentation or a video entry along with brief question responses. Applications for the high school awards are being accepted through Jan. 31, 2026. Middle school art submissions including photography, sculpture, drawing, painting or film will be accepted through Jan. 15, 2026. Winning entries from both categories will be exhibited at the PACE Center, bringing young voices and perspectives into a public arts space.
The awards matter beyond prizes. For students facing economic or social barriers, scholarship funds can ease the transition to higher education and reduce financial stress that affects mental and physical health. The public exhibit creates opportunities for community belonging and recognition, factors that contribute to youth wellbeing and resilience. Displaying diverse student work in a municipal arts venue also supports cultural inclusion and affirms young people as stakeholders in civic life.
Equity of access will shape how meaningful the program is for Douglas County families. Applications that require video or digital submissions can be challenging for households without reliable internet or recording equipment. School counselors, libraries and community centers can play a role in bridging those gaps by providing space and assistance for creating submissions. Residents can find full selection criteria, additional information and application forms by visiting ParkerCO.gov/YouthCommission.
The awards offer a concrete way for Parker to invest in young people, connecting recognition, financial support and public engagement as part of broader efforts to promote community health and opportunity.
