Schrader Family Gives 8 Million for Local Cancer Center
AdventHealth Castle Rock announced the Schrader Family finalized an 8 million dollar gift to complete the Rock of Hope campaign and fund the new Schrader Family Cancer Center. The gift brings advanced oncology services to Douglas County, reducing the need to travel for treatment and expanding whole person care close to home.

AdventHealth Castle Rock announced on November 26 that the Schrader Family finalized an 8 million dollar commitment to complete the Rock of Hope campaign and establish the Schrader Family Cancer Center. The final gift, received on November 21, brought the campaign to its fundraising goal and moves the new center toward opening in the coming weeks.
The center will include 12 chemotherapy infusion bays, an oncology lab and pharmacy, and radiation oncology equipped with advanced Vision RT radiation therapy alongside a linear accelerator. Planned services also encompass coordinated care offerings, a spiritual care center and a healing terrace designed to support patients beyond medical treatment. AdventHealth described the project as bringing advanced, whole person cancer care to the community.
Completing the fundraising target clears a major hurdle for the hospital and the donor family, who have emphasized local access to comprehensive cancer services. For many Douglas County residents this means cancer diagnosis tests and treatments can be provided closer to home, with multiple oncology specialties available under one roof. Local access aims to ease the logistical and emotional burden of travel for repeated treatments while integrating medical and supportive services in one location.
AdventHealth and the Schrader Family thanked community partners and the residents of Douglas County for their support in reaching the campaign goal. The campaign, known as Rock of Hope, has focused on expanding oncology capacity at AdventHealth Castle Rock to meet growing regional needs. The new center is expected to begin serving patients shortly after it opens, with scheduling and referral information to be provided by the hospital as services come online.
The addition of Vision RT technology and a linear accelerator brings treatment capabilities that were previously available only at larger metro facilities, allowing clinicians in Castle Rock to plan and deliver advanced radiation therapy locally. As the center moves from construction to operation, patients and families in Douglas County should have greater access to coordinated cancer care without leaving the community.
