Alive After 5 returns to downtown Jasper for 2026 season
Alive After 5 returns to Jasper Square with seven Friday nights of music, vendors and late shopping through December. Heart of Jasper is betting on evening foot traffic.

Downtown Jasper is getting another recurring evening draw as Heart of Jasper brings Alive After 5! back for 2026, a schedule built to keep people on the Square after work for music, shopping and dinner. The city calendar lists the events for May 1, June 5, August 7, September 4, October 2, November 6 and December 4, with the series generally running from 5 to 8 p.m.
Heart of Jasper is pairing free live music from Jon and Stacey with local vendors and later store hours, giving merchants a predictable crowd and visitors more time to browse shops, restaurants and boutiques. The December 4 listing on the city calendar runs from 6 to 8 p.m., a slightly shorter window than the rest of the series.
The return of the event fits a larger push to make downtown Jasper a place to stay after the workday ends. A June 2025 Indiana Main Street Transformation Strategy said Jasper’s next chapter has to focus on growing its evening economy after community survey responses, focus groups and market data pointed to a lack of energy, activity and retail options after 5 p.m. Visit Dubois County now describes Alive After 5 as a new evening initiative launching in May 2026 to activate downtown after work hours, with Jasper’s DORA district giving visitors another reason to linger.
Heart of Jasper says its mission is to create the epicenter of community activity by using existing assets, transforming those in need and adding new energy through creative programs and collaborative leadership. Alive After 5 joins a broader downtown calendar that already includes Music on Main and Downtown Chowdown, the monthly event that runs from April through October with food trucks, live music, yard games, shelter houses, benches and public restrooms.
That broader schedule matters because it gives downtown merchants more than a one-night boost. Heart of Jasper used Jon and Stacey at its 2025 Mingle on Main fundraiser, so the new series starts with a familiar local act, and the Jasper Redevelopment Commission continues to support Heart of Jasper through annual contract arrangements. For Jasper Square, the payoff is a steadier stream of evening foot traffic that can translate into restaurant covers, boutique sales and a downtown core that feels busy after 5 p.m.
