Pet owners in Dubois County now have a local option for rehabilitation and pain management care without leaving Jasper. Animal Medical Center of Dubois County launched AMC Rehabilitation and Pain Management at 1390 Crossroads Ave., expanding the practice beyond standard veterinary visits into a specialty service built for pets with mobility problems, chronic discomfort and recovery needs.

The new unit began accepting patients May 1 and is aimed at helping animals move more comfortably and manage pain with an integrative approach. Treatment options include therapeutic laser, shockwave, therapeutic exercise and regenerative medicine, giving local families a broader set of tools for dogs and other pets recovering from injury or surgery, or coping with arthritis and other long-term conditions.

The service is staffed by Dr. Molly Johnson and Chloe Knieriem, both certified in canine rehabilitation. Dr. Molly Johnson has worked at Animal Medical Center of Dubois County since graduating from Purdue University in May 2017, and the staff page says she especially enjoys caring for senior and geriatric patients. In January 2026, she was certified as a Canine Rehabilitation Therapist through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. Chloe Knieriem is listed as RVT, CCRVN, and the rehab site says she graduated from Owensboro Community and Technical College in May 2021 with a veterinary technician degree.

For families with aging pets, orthopedic injuries or animals that need ongoing pain control, the expansion could save repeated trips to specialty clinics farther away. It also raises the level of veterinary care available in the county by bringing a more advanced recovery service into a practice that already provides preventive, medical, dental, diagnostic and surgical care for Southern Indiana.

Animal Medical Center of Dubois County describes itself as a mixed-animal veterinary practice serving Southern Indiana. Dr. Charles R. Johnson, who graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983, opened the practice in 1996, giving the hospital nearly three decades of local history before this latest addition.

AMC Rehabilitation and Pain Management can be reached at 812-631-8270 or amcrehab8270@gmail.com. The main hospital is at the same Jasper address and can be reached at 812-634-9752. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
