Jasper's track-and-field teams swept Southern Indiana Athletic Conference rivals Evansville Central and Evansville Harrison in a Tuesday triad at Jerry Brewer Alumni Stadium, with the Wildcat girls posting a commanding 108 to Evansville Central's 30 and Evansville Harrison's 20, and the boys winning 80 to Harrison's 56 and Central's 27.

Senior Monica Lorey led the girls side in the 3200m run, crossing in 12:31.75 to take first place. Sophomore Molly Isaacs followed close behind in second at 12:37.18, giving Jasper a 1-2 finish that illustrated the depth driving the girls' lopsided team total.

On the boys side, sophomore Sawyer Reckelhoff was part of the winning 3200m relay squad that finished in 8:53.15. Junior Kyle Woehler and sophomores Isaac Dooley and Nathan Dubon rounded out that relay unit.

Jasper girls coach Dean Jerger acknowledged the quality of the opposition while keeping his focus on what comes next. "Central and Harrison have some athletes that are very, very talented," Jerger said. "I feel like we competed well tonight, obviously, collectively as a team. All the eyes are on conference now. Castle and Evansville North are going to have great teams, Evansville Memorial. We've seen all those schools this season, but each meet's a little bit different. We can only put two people in per event now."

The triad results came during a busy stretch for Jasper spring athletics. The Wildcats' boys and girls baseball teams also opened their seasons Thursday with wins over Evansville North and Evansville Memorial at Jerry Brewer Stadium, with next games scheduled for April 2.
