Kimball International earns Bronze Partnership of Excellence Award from OMNIA Partners

Kimball International’s Bronze Partnership of Excellence Award from OMNIA Partners gives Jasper more than a corporate trophy. It signals that one of Dubois County’s best-known employers is still winning business in a market where innovation, value, delivery and dependable partnerships decide who gets contracts.

OMNIA Partners said its supplier awards recognize performance in those areas, and Kimball’s recognition was tied to its work with public-sector customers across state and local government, higher education, K-12 schools and nonprofits. That matters because OMNIA’s cooperative purchasing model is built to connect thousands of agencies and educational institutions through combined buying power, helping them save time, reduce administrative complexity and access pre-negotiated pricing.

For Jasper, the award reinforces the company’s role as a local economic anchor. The Jasper Chamber of Commerce says Kimball grew from a local company founded in 1950 into an international organization with about 3,000 employees, 11 manufacturing facilities and operations in 12 states. The chamber also describes Kimball as the sixth-largest office furniture company and the largest U.S. supplier of guestroom furnishings to the hospitality industry, figures that underscore why a supplier-performance award resonates well beyond the company’s own balance sheet.

Kimball International says its family of brands includes Kimball, National, Etc., Interwoven, David Edward, Kimball Hospitality and D’style. The company remains based in Jasper, even as it now operates as a business unit of HNI Corporation. HNI completed its acquisition of Kimball International on June 1, 2023, after announcing the deal in March 2023, a move valued at about $485 million. That ownership change makes the OMNIA award a useful read on where Kimball stands inside a larger corporate structure: it is still competing nationally and still producing locally.

The practical takeaway for Dubois County is straightforward. Recognition from a major purchasing network suggests Kimball is maintaining a competitive edge in markets that reward reliability and price discipline, not just name recognition. For schools, governments and other public agencies that buy through OMNIA, that can mean a supplier with a stronger case for future contracts. For Jasper, it is another sign that one of its signature employers remains relevant in a sector where steady performance can translate into stable work, local investment and continuing business confidence.
