Patoka Valley Quilters Guild exhibit opens at Thyen-Clark Cultural Center

The Patoka Valley Quilters Guild, with support from Bargain Barn, will bring quilts and fiber artwork to the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center starting July 2, and the exhibit will stay on view through Sept. 20.

A free First Thursday opening reception is scheduled for July 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center, 100 3rd Avenue, Jasper, Indiana 47546. The center is home to Jasper Arts’ galleries, studios, workshops and community spaces, and the exhibit will be displayed in the building’s three galleries.

Founded in 1992, the Patoka Valley Quilters Guild serves quilters in Dubois County and surrounding areas and focuses on promoting and preserving the art of quilting. Members meet monthly at the Ferdinand Library, and the group has shown work before at Jasper Community Arts and the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center. The guild has also taken quilting into the classroom and the community, including educational demonstrations for fourth-grade students through a Dubois County Museum program and participation in a veterans’ quilt project in 2024.

The Thyen-Clark Cultural Center offers free admission, with gallery hours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. The exhibit is part of Jasper Arts’ broader 2026 gallery lineup, which also includes shows by Christina Zimmer Robinson, Erin Hochgesang, the 33rd Annual Juried Art Exhibition, Dubois County Ofrenda, a Sculpture Invitational Exhibition and Chris Dixon.
