Caleb A. Dubon Jr., 29, pleaded guilty Wednesday to dealing in methamphetamine and resisting law enforcement in Dubois County, with a sentence of 15 years in prison and 2.5 years of supervised probation to follow. David Chandler, 44, also pleaded guilty to dealing in methamphetamine; his sentencing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on April 30.

The two guilty pleas are part of a broader narcotics enforcement effort that has moved through Dubois Superior Court this year. On March 3, authorities executed arrest warrants at multiple locations spanning Dubois, Orange, Spencer, Warrick and Perry counties in Indiana, as well as Owensboro, Kentucky. The warrants grew out of narcotics dealing investigations conducted over several months, and the resulting charges reached across the region.

Among those charged in the March 3 sweep: Bobbie J. Nadeau, 42, of French Lick, and Bryor L. Shipman, 24, also of French Lick, each face Level 2 felony methamphetamine dealing charges, as does Kaylin M. McKinney, 26, also of French Lick. Avery B. Northerner, 37, of Tell City, faces two Level 3 felony methamphetamine counts and was already held at the Spencer County Security Center on a $200,000 bond when served with the new warrant. Darrel R. Harris Jr., 35, of Huntingburg, was served at the Dubois County Security Center, where he was held on a $20,000 cash bond for a separate Level 2 felony methamphetamine charge; his bond on the new case was set at an additional $25,000 cash only. Jefferey R. Sandage, 53, of Tell City, was held at the Perry County Security Center on a $255,000 bond when served. Shannon R. Simmons, 54, of Cannelton, and Zachary W. Hill, 47, of Dale, each face two Level 4 felony methamphetamine dealing counts with $10,000 cash-only bonds. Two Jasper residents also face charges: Juan Carlos Sanchez, 22, is charged with Level 6 felony marijuana dealing, while Saul Jesus Reyes, 21, faces Level 2 felony cocaine dealing and Level 6 felony marijuana dealing charges and was arrested in Owensboro, Kentucky, where he was held without bond.

Searches connected to the arrests of Nadeau and McKinney turned up methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia at residences in Orange County. A separate individual was taken into custody on unrelated outstanding warrants during one of those searches.

Dubois County Prosecutor Beth Schroeder said her office filed felony drug dealing charges against 23 individuals in 2025 alone. She credited Deputy Prosecutor Jenelle Murling, Narcotics Detective Craig Schneider of the Dubois County Sheriff's Office, and Patrolman Logan Jones of the Jasper Police Department for their work building these cases.

"These cases are rarely simple or swift," Schroeder said. "They are often the result of extensive and prolonged narcotics investigations involving coordinated police surveillance, carefully planned controlled purchases, the execution of search warrants, detailed evidence review, and hours of report preparation."

The Dubois County Prosecutor's Office team also includes Chief Deputy Tiffany Houchin and deputy prosecutors Dan Wilkinson and Logan Bromm. The office noted that its drug dealing cases this year resulted from undercover controlled buys of various controlled substances conducted in Dubois Superior Court proceedings.
