W. 15th walking path closed Feb. 18-20 for Regional Wellness Center construction
Jasper Street Department closed the walking path along W. 15th Street between Emily Street and the Parklands Feb. 18–20, 2026, to install a construction entrance for the Regional Wellness Center.

The Jasper Street Department announced that it has closed the walking path along W. 15th Street between Emily Street and the entrance to the Parklands. “The Jasper Street Department will close the walking path along W. 15th Street between Emily Street and the entrance to the Parklands,” local notices said, with the closure scheduled for Feb. 18–20, 2026, weather permitting.
Officials and local outlets described the closure’s purpose as creating an access point for the Regional Wellness Center. “This closure is to create a construction entrance for the Regional Wellness Center,” public notices reported, and the Original Report states that “the Regional Wellness Center project team and construction contractors will use the new entrance.”
Pedestrian safety guidance accompanying the closure stressed care at the temporary access. “After the construction entrance is completed, pedestrians should use caution while walking over the rock entrance and watch for construction traffic entering and exiting this area,” the advisory said; other versions of the notice used a similar formulation warning residents to watch for construction traffic entering and exiting the area.
Local reporting did not list signed detours or say whether flaggers or police would be on site while trucks use the new entrance. The Dubois County Free Press, Dubois County Herald, WITZ AM/FM and WWBL carried the closure notice; the Herald page shows an update timestamp of February 19, 2026 @ 1:02 am and WITZ published a notice dated Feb. 18, 2026. WWBL’s social post described the path as closed “until Friday, weather permitting,” consistent with the Feb. 20 end date on other outlets.
This announcement covers Jasper’s W. 15th Street segment only. A separate 15th Street improvement project in Hoboken reported elsewhere is unrelated; that Hoboken coverage names Mayor Bhalla and different street segments such as Madison and Adams and does not apply to Jasper’s Parklands corridor.
The closure window remains Feb. 18–20, 2026, weather permitting, and the street department’s advisory emphasizes the rock-lined construction entrance and construction traffic at the Parklands access off W. 15th Street.
