Cumming City Center turned the Lou Sobh Amphitheater into a World Cup viewing spot for two July matchups, including a semifinal watch party from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on July 14 and a championship final watch party from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on July 19. For Forsyth County families and friend groups deciding whether to stay local, the setup offered a simple option in the heart of Cumming: an outdoor screen, a set start time and no ticket price for the final.

The championship match was billed as a free community event and was presented by Willis Group and Country Financial. The listing said attendees could bring lawn chairs or blankets, and food from Cumming City Center restaurants was available, making the amphitheater more than a place to watch the game. It also gave people a built-in excuse to grab dinner on-site and settle in for the 90-minute match window.

That practical mix is part of why City Center has become a repeat sports gathering place. The same Lou Sobh Amphitheater hosted a Game Day Watch Party on Sept. 13, 2025 for UGA vs. Tennessee, showing the venue had already been used for big-screen sports events before the World Cup programming arrived. The amphitheater format gives the city center a way to draw people into the property for longer stretches, which matters for the restaurants and shops that benefit when crowds linger before and after an event.

The World Cup watch parties also fit a broader local pattern. The Collection at Forsyth listed its own July 19 World Cup watch party with a large LED screen and family activities such as face painting, giving county residents more than one public option for the final. In that context, Cumming City Center’s appeal was straightforward: free admission, a central location and a ready-made outdoor setting that made it easy for neighbors to watch one of soccer’s biggest matches together without leaving Forsyth County.
