Three people were left in critical condition after a crash sent one vehicle through a fence and onto Fresno Yosemite International Airport grounds near Dakota and Chestnut avenues in east central Fresno.

The wreck happened after midnight Friday, April 10, 2026, at the edge of one of Fresno’s most visible traffic corridors, next to the airport. Fresno Police said two vehicles were involved. One was wrapped around a pole; the other tore through a fence and came to rest on airport property.

When officers, fire and EMS crews arrived, one person from the pole crash had been thrown from the vehicle. Another person was trapped inside that wreckage. The driver of the second car, the one that went through the fence, was still inside the vehicle when responders reached the scene.

All three injured people were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where they were reported in critical condition.

Investigators had not yet said whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Airport police were assisting Fresno Police as investigators reviewed possible surveillance video from the area. Details on the cause of the collision and the identities of the people hurt were still pending.

The crash site sits beside Fresno Yosemite International Airport, where Dakota and Chestnut form a busy boundary between neighborhood traffic and airport property. The damage pattern, one car against a pole and another on the airport side of the fence, underscored how quickly a high-speed impact on that corridor can spread beyond the roadway itself.
