7 Brew Coffee Eyes Major Clovis Avenue and Shaw Avenue Corner
Arkansas's 7 Brew Coffee, with 500-plus locations but none yet in California, filed plans for a dual-lane drive-through at Clovis and Shaw avenues.

Arkansas-based 7 Brew Coffee has filed documents with the Clovis Planning Commission to build a 910-square-foot drive-through stand in the parking lot at Clovis Avenue and Shaw Avenue, a corner the filing itself describes as the junction of Clovis's two busiest commercial corridors. The proposal would make Clovis one of the chain's first California footholds after nine years of national expansion.
The stand would occupy part of the paved asphalt in the fully developed shopping center that already houses PetSmart, Marshalls and Planet Fitness. McDonald's and El Pollo Loco sit at the same corner. The only coffee option in the immediate area is the Starbucks tucked inside the Target directly across Clovis Avenue.
The design calls for two parallel drive-through lanes cut into what is currently parking space. According to the planning commission document, that dual-lane layout is capable of accommodating up to 13 queued vehicles between the menu board and the drive-up window. The report describes the operational flow this way: "Customers entering the drive-through will be greeted by staff who take orders directly from vehicles within the queuing lanes. At the pick-up window, additional staff will deliver beverages to customers, allowing both lanes to operate efficiently and minimizing delays." The 910-square-foot structure would also include outdoor seating. Proposed hours run from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with the company anticipating roughly 500 customers per day.
The chain launched its first location in Rogers, Arkansas, in 2017 and has since grown to more than 500 locations across 38 states, building much of its early following in Texas and Arizona. As of the filing, it has not opened a single California location; the nearest existing 7 Brew shops are in Arizona and Utah. Clovis is not alone in its consideration: 7 Brew recently submitted a separate design review application to the City of Roseville, a Sacramento-area city of approximately 148,000 residents, according to the Sacramento Bee.
No construction timeline or opening date appears in the materials currently on file with the Clovis Planning Commission. The project requires commission approval before any work can begin.
