Zachary Kinberger, 41, was driving a Tesla on Highway 180 east of Fresno near Dunlap on Wednesday afternoon when his vehicle crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic and struck Misty Lynn's Kia Soul head-on, killing the 34-year-old Squaw Valley woman and sending her car 30 feet down a mountainside, the California Highway Patrol said.

The Fresno County Coroner's Office identified Lynn on Thursday. Before her name was released, authorities had initially described the victim as a woman in her 20s.

Three other people were inside Kinberger's Tesla at the time: a 21-year-old passenger and two children, both under the age of 5 and properly secured in child seats. The woman and one of the children were transported to Community Regional Medical Center, while the other child was taken to Valley Children's Hospital. CHP said one of the four occupants was airlifted, though it was not clear which person. All three passengers are expected to be okay, according to ABC30.

Kinberger sustained major injuries and was hospitalized. He was arrested based on CHP's preliminary investigation on suspicion of driving under the influence, which CHP said is "believed to involve drugs." He remains at the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Wednesday's crash was not Kinberger's first arrest for impaired driving. In 2015, he led Fresno Police on a chase, and police said at that time he was under the influence of marijuana and prescription drugs.

Crews from CHP, Cal Fire, and local emergency services secured the scene and cleared the roadway. Highway 180 was shut down for roughly an hour while responders worked the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

Those who knew Lynn described her death as senseless and completely avoidable. Bella Brooke Cafe in Dunlap will host a celebration of life for Lynn on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. to raise money for her family.
