Fresno County School Food Coordinator Arrested on Child Sex Charges

Carlos Rivas, 49, a Raisin City School District food coordinator and coach from Kerman, was arrested on two felony child sex charges and released on $60,000 bond.

Carlos Rivas, 49, of Kerman, a food service coordinator and sports coach at the Raisin City School District, was arrested by Fresno County Sheriff's deputies on two felony charges: annoying a child and lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14.

Rivas was booked into jail following his arrest and his bail was set at $60,000. He has since posted bond and been released from custody. The Raisin City School District placed him on administrative leave after the arrest.

Employed at the Raisin City School District Office, Rivas worked in the district's food services operation and was also involved in coaching sports, giving him regular contact with students. The district has not issued a public statement beyond confirming his administrative leave status.

Deputies said they do not have information indicating additional victims at this time, but the investigation remains ongoing.
