Fresno County to Welcome Mulligan's Sports Bar and Golf Simulator Concept

A liquor license posted in the window of the former Lassen's grocery store near Woodward Park signaled what north Fresno has been waiting for: Mulligan's, the Visalia sports bar and golf simulator, is opening a new location in Fresno.

The liquor license listing named Shane Moss as CEO of the golf club and sports bar, and a call to Mulligan's in Visalia confirmed the business would "soon" be opening in Fresno. The city of Fresno notified neighbors of the business proposal back in August 2025.

At nearly 13,000 square feet, the former Lassen's site will give Mulligan's even more room than the Visalia location, which spans 8,000 square feet and includes seven indoor simulation golf bays, a full bar, and a full-service kitchen. The Visalia club offers leagues, special promotional nights, and a menu that runs from tacos and burgers to pizza.

Before the Visalia location opened in August 2024, Moss described it as a "pilot," with the goal of expanding to four or five locations, including Fresno, Clovis, and Bakersfield. The Fresno opening marks the first step in that expansion, putting the concept squarely in front of the Central Valley's largest urban market.

Moss co-founded Mulligan's alongside Scott Wright, whose interest in the concept was sparked after experiencing a golf simulator in Cabo San Lucas. The Visalia facility features seven indoor simulation golf bays, a full bar, and a full-service kitchen, and the Fresno footprint suggests an even larger build-out is in store.

The north Fresno site puts Mulligan's in a neighborhood already trending toward entertainment and dining. Just down the road from the incoming location is The Fairway Lounge at the Park Crossing Shopping Center, and golf simulators have been growing in popularity across Fresno, with Top Golf operating at Chukchansi casino among other venues.

The simulator format allows golfers to "play" any of dozens of actual courses on large screens, with views from prestigious venues including Pebble Beach and St. Andrews. No opening date for the Fresno location has been publicly announced.
