Fresno Man, 64, Arrested After Allegedly Striking, Shooting at Domestic Partner
Calvin Hackett, 64, allegedly punched his partner three times and fired a gun at them twice as they fled their Fresno home Monday afternoon.

Calvin Hackett, 64, was arrested Monday afternoon after his live-in partner called 911 to report being punched in the head and shot at during a domestic dispute at their Fresno residence.
The incident unfolded around 2:30 p.m. According to Fresno police, the victim reported being struck three times in the head with a closed fist by the 220-pound Hackett, then fired at twice while fleeing. The victim was able to call 911, and Hackett was taken into custody after the victim positively identified him.
The couple live together and were in a dating relationship at the time of the alleged attack. Fresno police declined to identify the specific location of the incident, citing standard practice in domestic violence cases.
Officers executed a search warrant at the scene and recovered a handgun along with a bottle containing what appeared to be methamphetamine. Police noted that Hackett has prior felony convictions, though no further details about his criminal history were provided.
Hackett was booked into Fresno County Jail on charges of misdemeanor domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, willful discharge of a firearm, weapons charges, and narcotics possession, including possession while armed. His bail totals $185,000.
The recovered substance has not been confirmed by laboratory testing, and all criminal allegations remain pending the court process.
