Fresno State Vintage Days draws crowds with food, concerts and anime gaming
Vintage Days packed Fresno State with food booths, concerts and anime gaming, drawing tens of thousands and turning campus into a free weekend gathering spot.

Fresno State’s 52nd annual Vintage Days turned campus into one of the biggest weekend gathering spots in Fresno, mixing food booths, craft fairs, live concerts and family activities with a new draw for 2026: anime gaming.
The festival ran Friday through Sunday and stood out for being free, including campus parking, a detail that helped make it one of the university’s most accessible traditions. That low barrier to entry mattered on a weekend when organizers expected tens of thousands of visitors and more than 50,000 people over the three-day run, a level of turnout that put steady traffic in front of vendors, student groups and campus attractions.
What set this year’s Vintage Days apart was how clearly it reflected the changing tastes of the crowd. Alongside the classic festival staples, an Anime Gaming Con brought cosplay, tournaments and appearances by two voice actors tied to popular media. That addition widened the event’s reach beyond the usual campus fair audience and helped make the weekend feel less like a university open house and more like a citywide entertainment district.
For Fresno vendors, that kind of turnout is the point. Large crowds translate into more chances to sell food, crafts and other items, while student organizations use the weekend to raise visibility and connect with the broader community. The event also gave local families an easy way to spend the day on campus without paying an admission fee or worrying about parking costs, which is part of why Vintage Days has remained a dependable spring tradition after 52 years.

The scale of the festival also reinforced Fresno State’s role as a public space, not just a classroom campus. With visitors moving between food booths, concerts, craft areas and the anime gaming attractions, the university became a shared gathering place where students, alumni and residents could mix in one setting. That visibility matters in Fresno, where large community events often double as informal showcases for local businesses and campus life.
Vintage Days has endured because it keeps expanding without losing its core appeal. The formula is simple: free entry, free parking, a broad mix of food and entertainment, and enough variety to bring in people who might come for the concerts, the crafts or the cosplay and stay for the rest of the weekend.
