A juvenile was killed Tuesday evening after being struck by a car traveling at high speed on Mendocino Avenue near Parlier Avenue, with surveillance footage capturing the suspected vehicle moments later crashing into a local bridal shop about 1,000 feet from where the child was hit.
Parlier police received calls reporting the collision around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived at the scene on Mendocino Avenue between Parlier Avenue and Manning Avenue, they found the juvenile already deceased. Authorities have not released the victim's name or age, though FOX26 reported the victim was a 15-year-old boy.
According to CAL FIRE, two people were crossing the roadway when the car struck one of the pedestrians. Officials estimated the vehicle was traveling at least 60 mph at the time of impact. The car continued for roughly 1,000 feet before crashing into Francy's Bridal Flower Shop, a business north of the collision site at Mendocino and Parlier avenues. Video obtained from the shop shows a blue car driving at high speed before slamming into the building. The driver, identified as a woman, suffered minor injuries.
Parlier police requested assistance from the Fresno County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol to investigate the crash. Officers from the Reedley and Selma police departments were also deployed to help control the scene. Mendocino Avenue near the intersection remained closed Tuesday evening with no estimated reopening time given.

Parlier Mayor Alma Beltran addressed the tragedy on her verified Facebook page, writing: "The City of Parlier stands with the Quiroz family during this incredibly difficult time as they grieve the heartbreaking loss of their loved one. Our entire community mourns alongside them, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they navigate this profound tragedy."
No arrests or charges had been reported as of Tuesday evening. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
