Kingsburg Library Closes March 23 for Flooring, Lighting Upgrades
Kingsburg Library closes March 23 for new flooring and LED lighting, with holds automatically rerouted to Reedley Library through early May.

The Kingsburg Library will shut its doors March 23, 2026, for roughly six weeks of interior construction, with crews slated to replace flooring throughout the building's public spaces and convert the lighting system to LED throughout the space. Fresno County Public Library expects the branch to reopen in early May.
The scope of work explains why the closure must be total. "The work requires full access to the building so construction crews can complete the project as quickly, efficiently, and safely as possible," according to the Fresno County Public Library notice. New flooring is expected to improve both the appearance and durability of the library's public areas, while the LED upgrade will deliver what the county describes as "brighter, more efficient illumination throughout the space."
Kingsburg cardholders who have holds waiting for pickup will not need to take action: those holds will be automatically redirected to Reedley Library during the closure. Patrons who prefer a different branch can log into their account on the Fresno County Public Library website and update their preferred pickup location manually.
The book drop in the parking lot behind the Kingsburg Library will stay open throughout construction, so patrons can continue returning materials without traveling to another branch. For in-person services, Fowler Library and Reedley Library are the closest open locations during the closure period.
Digital services remain uninterrupted. eBooks, audiobooks, and the broader range of online offerings accessible through the library's website will continue to be available to Kingsburg patrons throughout the construction window.
The county has not announced a specific calendar date for the reopening beyond "early May 2026," nor have project costs or the name of the contractor been disclosed.
