Fresno Yosemite International Airport added another local stop for travelers this week as Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant and Mezcal Bar opened in the terminal’s new Concourse B, extending the airport’s push to make layovers and early departures feel less generic and more Fresno.

SSP America, the airport’s food-and-beverage operator, said the new space brings a beloved Fresno favorite into the airport’s latest expansion. Los Amigos was first announced in January 2025 as a Fresno staple of more than 30 years, with plans for a 2,000-square-foot restaurant shaped around mariachi and folklórico themes. The menu is expected to center on burritos, enchiladas and tacos, with a full-service bar that makes the spot more than a quick counter for coffee and snacks.

The opening matters because the airport is growing fast enough to make dining choices a real part of the passenger experience. Fresno Yosemite International served more than 2.6 million passengers in 2024, a 9% increase from 2023, and traffic between Fresno and Mexico reached 411,575 travelers that year, up 27.5% from 2023. That international count climbed again in 2025 to 433,636, another 4% increase. For an airport handling more flights, more connections and more travelers with time to spend, a recognizable restaurant can shorten the dead time before boarding.

Los Amigos also arrived inside a larger terminal overhaul that opened in December 2025 and has been described as a roughly $150 million project. The new Concourse B is part of that work, and the airport has used the expansion to bring in more local brands rather than relying only on national chains. Mad Duck Craft Brewing Co. and Ike’s Love and Sandwiches had already opened at the airport in the months before Los Amigos, signaling a more deliberate effort to give FAT a stronger Central Valley identity.

For Fresno, the payoff is practical as much as symbolic. Families heading out on vacation, business travelers trying to make a morning departure, and meeters-and-greeters killing time before arrivals now have another familiar place to eat and drink inside the terminal. For visitors passing through, the airport is becoming one of the first places to encounter a Fresno brand, not just a Fresno gate.
