Sanger Man Michael Bulaich Arrested in Murder of Garth Moore
Homicide detectives arrested Sanger resident Michael Bulaich in connection with the death of missing 34-year-old Garth Dustin Moore; authorities are asking the public for tips.

Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office arrested 46-year-old Michael Bulaich of Sanger and booked him into the Fresno County Jail on charges connected to the death of 34-year-old Garth Dustin Moore. The arrest follows a missing-person report filed for Moore in early January and an investigation that led detectives to serve a search warrant at a Sanger property on Jan. 21.
Authorities said "Bulaich is not currently eligible for bail." Detectives executed the search warrant at a property near Highway 180 and South Leonard Avenue in Sanger and, "based on evidence and information gathered during the investigation, detectives contacted and arrested Bulaich in connection with Moore’s death." Officials have not released additional details because the investigation is ongoing.

The charges reported in the case include murder, a probation violation, and an allegation that Bulaich is a repeat serious felony offender. Case number 25-13227 has been assigned to the investigation. Some local reports indicate Bulaich has pleaded not guilty and is expected back in court in March; those court details should be confirmed through official filings.
For neighbors and families in Sanger and across Fresno County, the arrest ends a period of uncertainty about Moore’s disappearance but raises new questions about what investigators have uncovered and what remains under investigation. The sheriff’s office emphasized that, despite the arrest, detectives are continuing to gather information. "Further details were not released because the investigation is ongoing," officials said.
Community members with information are being asked to come forward. "The sheriff’s office said that although an arrest has been made, investigators are still seeking additional information related to the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Jesse Gloria at (559) 600-8217 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867." Tips may also be submitted through Valley Crime Stoppers; callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
The case underscores ongoing concerns about public safety in neighborhoods along Highway 180 and in Sanger. Local law enforcement action, from the missing-person report to the search warrant and the subsequent arrest, reflects standard investigative steps taken in serious cases. Residents who have security footage, witnessed unusual activity, or know more about the people involved are urged to contact investigators.
What comes next is a continuation of the criminal process and the sheriff’s inquiry. Expect court proceedings and further releases as charges are formally processed and investigators complete their work. In the meantime, Detective Jesse Gloria and Crime Stoppers remain the primary contacts for anyone in Fresno County who can assist with the investigation.
