Woman Trapped After Crashing Into Tree Near Downtown Fresno, Expected to Recover
A woman was pinned inside her car after crashing into a tree at Stanislaus and M streets Saturday; witnesses say she was driving erratically before impact.

Firefighters pulled a woman from a white vehicle after she crashed into a tree near downtown Fresno on Saturday, and she is expected to recover from her injuries.
The crash happened just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of Stanislaus and M streets. Officers arriving on scene found the woman pinned inside the vehicle, prompting a rescue response that temporarily closed the area to traffic.
Fresno police Lt. Marcus Gray II said witnesses reported the woman was driving erratically before the crash. Investigators determined that drugs and alcohol were not factors.

Firefighters extricated the woman from the wreckage. She was transported to a hospital and is expected to be OK.
No arrests or charges were reported. The cause of the erratic driving, whether a medical event, mechanical failure, or other factor, has not been publicly determined. The investigation remains ongoing.
